Reporting to the Housing First Program Manager, the Community Outreach Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and leading Outreach Programming, including Outreach Housing staff and associated programming. Qualified candidates possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, work well in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and hold values that match our corporate vision, mission & values. This position will participate in the recruitment, hiring, performance management, and professional development of staff and volunteers
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and support and provide day to day supervision of staff and volunteers
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of diverse teams primarily working in the community, independently
- Develop and ensure the ongoing success of safety protocols for staff in the community
- Develop processes, perform decision-making, and contribute to the successful delivery of funded programs through various levels of government
- Track and maintain statistical program information ensuring compliance with funding contracts
- Write reports as required
- Oversee the development of programming, community projects, committees and special events
- Oversee data systems that track service use and outcomes; providing analysis of results and recommending enhancements as needed
- Assist with the development of funding applications and proposals
- Deliver public presentations and conduct tours of YOU facilities
- Provide YOU representation to relevant community networks, coalitions, and events as required
- Act as the YOU brand ambassador and ensure alignment of services across the agency
- Provide on-call support, including after-hour to support staff and serious occurrences
Qualifications:
The incumbent must have superior relationship management skills, customer service, attention to detail and be comfortable with a variety of people. The incumbent must demonstrate friendliness, creativity, and flexibility in dealing with the public, youth participants, and YOU staff.
Specific qualifications to include:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Human Services, or Health Services from a recognized educational institution and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Demonstrated experience leading a diverse team of staff and volunteers (more than 10)
- Clear understanding of program models including Housing First
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meeting targets and deadlines, and abilities to manage a variety of daily operations and special projects
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet program needs
- Demonstrated understanding of YOU’s wraparound approach and the diverse nature of programming to support youth
- Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships with youth, employers, and community partners
- Actively model the Mission, Vision, and Values of YOU, demonstrating behaviors that are in alignment with the same
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Access to reliable transportation with a valid G driver’s license.
HOURS OF WORK
- 35 hours per week, flexible schedule depending on the needs of YOU
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required from time to time
