The Webmaster plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the chapter’s online presence. This volunteer is responsible for updating and managing website content, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly experience, and using web analytics to inform improvements. The Webmaster contributes to the overall visibility and engagement of the chapter by ensuring the website effectively supports communications, events, and member services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly update website content to ensure accuracy and relevance, including news, events, resources, and chapter announcements.
- Monitor website performance, track web traffic, and provide monthly reports to the AFP London and Region Board.
- Identify opportunities to optimize website usability, navigation, and accessibility to enhance the user experience.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications and other volunteer leaders to align website content with chapter goals and initiatives.
- Ensure timely posting and archiving of content, including event promotions, board member updates, and member communications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms).
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Understanding of web analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of website accessibility standards and user experience best practices is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteer teams and communicate effectively.
Time Commitment: Approximately 1-3 hours per month
